document.write('<p><b>Autocross<br /><br /></b><a href=\"http://www.paradecharlotte.org/images/Autocross2008_final.xls\">-- download the Autocross results here (excel)</a><b><br /></b></p><p>The Parade 2008 Autocross will be held at Lowe\'s Motor Speedway, a short drive north of Charlotte off of I-85.The Speedway plays host each year to numerous motor sports events including the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the NASCAR Nationwide Series (formerly Busch), Driving Schools, Car Shows and many other racing series. We will be taking advantage of the entire speedway infield, we will use the infield road course for our autocross with plenty of additional space available for vehicle staging, the Michelin Tire test event and spectator parking.</p><p>The autocross will take place on Wednesday July 2nd and as in San Diego, will be a one day event. We are anticipating a fast, yet safe course which should give the \'power\' folks plenty of fun but the technical sections will provide a challenge for the \'momentum\' crowd. This means that we have an experienced group of autocrossers setting up and running the event.</p><p>In order to provide a safe and fun driving experience and complete the event in one day, we will be limiting participation in this event to 375 drivers.</p><p>If you are interested in participating in the Autocross, please be sure to register early for the event. If you are not planning to drive but want to enjoy the festivities of the day, please set aside time to visit the speedway and watch the autocross participants as they face the challenge of what is sure to be a fast, fun and challenging autocross course.
