Committee:

The 2008 ASD Committee will be comprised of the following people, in the following roles:

Desley Horton (Chair): has a long history with schools debating - as a competitor, a coach, an adjudicator and an Executive member of the New Zealand Schools Debating Council. Desley has also held positions on the University of Auckland Debating Society as both Treasurer and President and debated both nationally and internationally at University tournaments.

Nikki Bentley (Secretary/Treasurer): is a teacher and debating coach from Kings College. Nikki was previously on the ISAY Committee.

Brad Ward (Premier Junior and Premier Advanced Grade Convenor): is an extremely experienced debater, adjudicator and coach. In 2007 he was the Vice-President of the University of Auckland Debating Society and in 2008 will assume the role of President. He has competed to the highest national level at both a schools and university level. He was previously on the ISAY Committee.

Max Harris (Advanced Open Grade Convenor): is an experienced debater and adjudicator. In 2008 he will be the Vice President of the University of Auckland Debating Society. He was previously on the SSDA Committee.

Barbara McGowan (Senior Open Grade Convenor): is a teacher and debating coach from Auckland Boys Grammar School. Barbara was previously on the ISAY Committee.

Akif Malik (Junior Open Grade Convenor): is an experienced debater and adjudicator. He is a member of the University of Auckland Debating Society and was previously on the SSDA Committee.
