I've decided that I need a new hobby.
It used to be that I LOVED to cook. And I still do, but now it's a neccessary task so it's just not the same. I still try to make elaborate dinners, but more often than not, I just default to something I've already done.
To put my enthusiasim in FoodNetwork perspective, I've gone from The Essence of Emeril to The Barefoot Contessa to Semi-Homemade. The spark is gone, hopefully only temporarily.
So I now think I need something new to inspire my creativity. I've been finding a lot of blogs from Craft Magazine that make me terribly envious of these people and their talents - even if it is crocheting a chess set. I haven't been able to master the crochet hook (or whatever you call it) EVER! Nor have I been able to knit. I think the problem lies in the fact that I'm left handed and all the instructions are for righties.
So those are both out.
I can paint and I can draw, but I am only really good at copying things that I see. To me that isn't talent (to my mother it makes me Picasso).
I've tried quilting and it's OK, I've tried sculpture with modeling clay and I can make lovely little bears and crap that no one should want after the age of 5. I've tried jewelry making, flower arranging, salt clay, watercolors, graphic design, painting furniture, batik, and just about anything I can think of.
At this point I'm open to suggestions...
